Long Term Care is more “custodial care” than medical care.
Custodial care is the care people need when they have become
too physically or cognitively impaired to perform the tasks
of ordinary independent living.
If you are a healthy person you may take for granted simple
daily-performed tasks such as taking a shower or eating
breakfast. But when you or a loved one have been afflicted
with a disease such as Alzheimer’s, performing these simple
tasks becomes impossible without assistance from others.
In many cases, such assistance is required to be full-time
and becomes very expensive.
Long term care is more than care in a nursing home. It
can include care in your own home, Assisted Living Facility
care and even Adult Day Care Facility Care.
